March is all about Forbes! This month, any and all fanart dedicated to our molecular Jesse Kilmartin or the actor Forbes March is fair game. Have fun! :)

Mutant X Finales! Since last month was about the beginning of Mutant X, at year's end, it's time to think of the opposite. For December's fanart challenge, creatively reminisce about one of the three Mutant X season finales: "A Breed Apart" for season one, "Lest He Become" for season two, or "The Assault" for season three. Depending upon your feelings about the episode, the tone of the piece could be funny, sad, snide, etc. -- that's entirely up to you (heh-heh). Have fun! :)

Okay, I've just got one two icons right now but it's special... See, it's animated.

I was thinking of doing a whole post of animated icons, but it'd take a while, so I'm mostly curious as to if anyone would be interested in them. I've got episodes 1-6 of Season One, Episode 1 of Season 2 (Past as a prologue) and episodes 21 & 22 of Season 3. I've found a source (veoh.com) where I can download them so if you've got an scene that you'd like me to do from any episode, let me know!

I'm definitely taking requests with these. I can never find what to say on animated icons- it's odd.

Oh, I've got another one I completely forgot to put in my last post!

Let me know which style you'd like! Mini-movie verses Still Frames, and what text you'd like, what scene of what episode, etc. If no one speaks up, I'll probably end up doing a bunch of random ones, so input is appreciated :D

When I saw the entry for this month’s challenge, I instantly thought back of one of my old vids, which was some kind of overview of the MX pilot, using the first 2 eps of the show. Seeing that I’m not making any kind of MX fanart anymore, [profile] firstmutanttold me to go ahead and post it, even though it’s years old - more than 3 and a half years old actually. The theme of the month being “Beginnings” is kinda amusing since this vid was one of my first (my 6th actually), that was my own beginning in the vidding domain (I’m up to 73 now – and I’ll shut up before getting nostalgic).
I wanted to do a virtual cleanup, but the links in my project file wouldn’t match with the source files. And seeing that re-editing it with a new source file was completely out of the question for me, I just had to go for the easiest solution, meaning fixing the watermark and credits while losing a little bit of quality. But I think it’s still pretty decent.
I’ll shut up now and let you enjoy the vid.

This month's challenge will be Mutant X: Beginnings. It was six years and one month ago that the very first episode of Mutant X aired in the United States. Celebrate the sixth anniversary by creatively paying homage to the first two episodes of the show, "Shock of the New" and "I Scream the Body Electric," in any way you'd like. As usual, the results will be due at the end of this month (or thereabouts). Have fun! :)

I cant seem to stop doing MX graphics. I've got two challenge entries for the October challenge (Really, it's only a few days late ;D) Wallpapers for everyone's viewing pleasure. Feel free to nab!

Back by popular demand: the monthly fanart challenges. :)

Since fall is upon us, I thought a seasonal musical challenge would be appropriate. For this month's challenge, incorporate some part of the following song lyrics into a piece of Mutant X-themed fanart, be it a drawing, icons, wallpaper, etc. Responses are due by the end of the month or thereabouts. Have fun!

From the musical Titanic:

Shall we all meet in the Autumn?
Golden and glowing by Autumn
Shall we still be best of friends?
Best of friends

All through each languorous season
We ebb and flow
Romance, defying all reason
Will come, then go

Still, perhaps this Autumn
Love won't retreat in the Autumn
All that we have won't be past
Won't be past

Let breezes blow
And turn cold
As we continue growing old
This Autumn
Love newly found
May yet last

In the area of odd celebrations, it turns out that May in the U.S. is Better Sleep Month, National Good Car Care Month, National Photo Month, National Salad Month, National Egg Month, National Barbecue Month, National Foster Care Month, Older Americans Month, Electrical Safety Month, Better Hearing and Speech Month, National Bicycle Month, National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, National Military Appreciation Month, Revise Your Work Schedule Month, Date Your Mate Month, National Hamburger Month, National Mental Health Month, National Skin Cancer Awareness Month, National High Blood Pressure Awareness Month, National Arthritis Month, and Fungal Infection Awareness Month. :D

As funny as it would be to try to tie egg salad, barbecued hamburgers, and fungal infections together into a fanart challenge, I think I'm going to go with the photographs on this one. So this month's challenge will be to create a snapshot of Mutant X for someone who has never seen the show before, and is curious to know what Mutant X is all about. How would you describe the show to them in one piece of fanart? This can be a montage, a video, an important moment with your characters of choice, whatever you'd like. Have fun with this! :)

And if you're still curious... )

Happy April Fool's Day! In honor of the occasion, this month's fanart challenge will be "What Would NEVER Happen in Mutant X?" The odd, the strange, the weird, it's all fair game. Let your imagination run wild, and have fun! :D

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been around much lately; work has been killer.

Anyhow, here's this month's challenge: Mutant X Crossovers. If you've ever thought to yourself, "Mutant X might fit well with this other universe," here's your opportunity to prove your theory. Create a video, illustration, icons, etc. that somehow integrates the world of Mutant X with that of another television show, film, or book. Mix and match your fandoms and have fun!

Happy 2007! Since this challenge is coming rather late this month, I'm combining January and February's prompts in order to even things out. The theme this go around will be Mutant X Valentine. Here's your chance to pay homage to your favorite Mutant X character and/or romantic couple. Have fun!

In the spirit of the holidays, the theme for December's challenge will be Sanctuary's Secret Santa! This month, you can be Sanctuary's Secret Santa when you create a fanart gift for one or more members of the Mutant X team. What icons or wallpapers would you give Shalimar to enjoy? What illustration should Jesse have to put on his wall? Spread that holiday cheer and have fun with this one, guys!

Greetings all. As Thanksgiving is coming up at the end of this month, I thought it might be fun to have a culinary challenge for November. So this month's theme is Mutant X: Mealtime. You can interpret this any way you'd like, just find a way to link Mutant X with food. So grab a snack and get creative! :D

Boo! Sorry for the delay on the challenge this month; I was temporarily detained in a stasis pod. Anyway, in celebration of my favorite holiday, Halloween, [livejournal.com profile] tribeofroses suggested that the fanart challenge this month be Mutant X Fright Night! Mutant X has had its share of scary creatures, terrifying moments, and frightening costumes. This is the month for creepy Mutant X fanart, so here are some inspirational pictures to get you started:

Hey guys! Well, here we are in September, so it's time for the monthly fanart challenge post. [livejournal.com profile] princessbryn had a great suggestion, that we change the challenge format a little bit this go around. This month, we'll post several base photos from which you can create anything you'd like using those photos...and then share your work. Here they are:

G'day folks! As we head into the sweltering summer, it might be appropriate to give a nod to the hot actors of our beloved show. So this month's challenge will be The Stars of Mutant X. And yes, this certainly includes the wonderful guest stars. If you're having trouble finding pictures of them, check out The Directory for websites devoted to the actors, or just ask us. Have fun with this! :D

Here's a shout out to the two artists who responded to last month's challenge, Mutant X In Action:

1. From [livejournal.com profile] vicellious, an exciting illustration of (who else, heh-heh) Brennan and Jesse

2. From [livejournal.com profile] morbideclipse, (linked with one of my favorite Shalimar lines, by the way--excellent choice), seven new fabulous icons

Thanks, you guys! :)
